Sustainability Strategy

I was the operations environmental Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the committee that established Kohler Co.’s initial sustainability program in 2008.

Collaboration

Within any organization, the successful subject matter expert (SME) needs to influence associates and leaders in many functions.

Data Processes

In 2007 I designed a series of linked spreadsheets to collect operations sustainability data.

Reporting

I developed the first sustainability reporting. We did annual reports for internal audiences each year since 2008.

Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas

I led the Scope 3 greenhouse gas metrics collection project and worked towards setting a Scope 3 strategy in the last nine months before retiring.

Waste Minimization

I led company waste minimization efforts from 1995 (landfill diversion rate near zero) to 2008 (landfill diversion rate over 50%).

Beekeeping

My opinion is that the success of a beekeeper is not measured by how many pounds of honey are gathered.
